Here's a great article in the Wall Street Journal about Bruce Rosenbaum. Click here: Steampunk

Our Deodorized Argan Oil Experience

We haven't posted any news in quite some time. We think that it is time to state, generally, some of what we have been doing.

For a brief period, we decided to experiment with marketing Deodorized Argan Oil, selling it on our web site and eBay.  We found that , although we had inquiries about it, once we started marketing this version, there was little demand for it, even at a reduced price. This oil, as advertised, did not have any scent. It also had a consistency about it and appeared lighter and thinner.

When we put the deodorized version in the same environment as our normal cold pressed version, we noticed that they reacted differently at low temperatures. For example, at sustained temperatures below 60 degrees Fahrenheit, our cold pressed argan oil tended to thicken, with the fatty acids tending to become more solid. To pour it became a tough task.

With the deodorized argan oil, its consistency remained unchanged even at temperatures down to 50 degrees F. There was no sign of solidification.  It continued to pour smoothly and easily. To the naked eye, it appeared that all of the essential fatty acids had been removed somehow. So, although we had purchased it from a reputable producer, we had difficulty marketing it as all natural or bulk organic and discontinued marketing it.
