Buyer Beware -READ THE INGREDIENTS

I noticed that with the increasing popularity of Argan oil, many companies are claiming its beauty benefits and including it in their products.  While including Argan oil is a good thing, including all the other chemicals and preservatives should be a major concern.  Argan oil in its natural organic state needs nothing else in it.  It has all the major components and vitamins necessary to improve the appearance of your skin, nails and hair.

Here are some the ingredients included in a major cosmetic line sold on a major shopping network:

[Precious Moroccan Argan Oil Night Cream Skin Balancing Capsules

Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Myristoyl Pentapeptide-8, Myristoyl Tetrapeptide-8, Narcissus Poeticus Flower Wax, Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil, Centella Asiatica Extract, Zea Mays (Corn) Oil, Methyl Methacrylate/Glycol Dimethacrylate Crosspolymer, Fragrance, BHT.]

Is this what you want your skin to absorb?

Also, on another major shopping network, a person who is selling her 100% organic, toxic free line (great idea and one that we are seriously considering ourselves) seems to think Argan oil comes from a plant that grows in the Mojave Desert.  Wrong!!  Argan oil comes from a fruit on a tree that grows only in a certain region in Morocco.

Of course, we hope that you choose to buy your Argan oil from The Posh Peddler, but if you insist on buying the same high quality Argan oil, but for more money, Josie Maran is a trusted vendor.

Basically, you should be very careful about using harmful chemical products on your skin and in your hair. They can be more harmful than good and any improvement in appearance is probably transient. Silicone products can suffocate the skin and hair, although you might like the way they make you look. But, in many cases, you can get the same look and appearance simply by using a natural product, like organic Argan oil.  I am merely suggesting that when considering your purchase, you read the label and know what you are really getting.
